If you’ve been in Guatemala long enough, then you’ve at least heard of Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala, the biggest and oldest university in the country. Every year, their students hold a protest known as “Huelga de Dolores” or “Protest of Pains”. This public event is essentially a massive, satirical protest against, well… everything. From the government to the church, the University will protest everything about anything that they perceive to be wrong with this country.
